2nd Annual Spring Fling

“Deli & Dancing” to celebrate the 30th birthday of JFS!
All proceeds will benefit programs provided by Jewish Family Service of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties, a non-profit, non-sectarian local social service agency that offers counseling, healing, and hope to those who know despair. Your support will help JFS serve local families coping with emotional distress, job loss, financial difficulties, the pain of isolation and other crises that bring people to Jewish Family Service for assistance.
$125 per couple

Caregiver Support Group

“Elder Law Tools: What you need to know about Wills, Living Wills, Durable Powers of Attorney and Medicaid Today”
Presented by Benjamin Menasha, Esq.
Mr. Menasha is a graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University. He started working with the elderly and disabled while still in law school and has concentrated in this area ever since. He is currently a partner in the Law Firm of Pisciotta & Menasha in North Brunswick New Jersey where he concentrates his practice on Estate Planning, Guardianships, Estate Administration and Long Term Planning.

Group forming in the fall…
Peer Support for parents with a special needs child
An opportunity to come together with other parents who share similar experiences of parenting. Led by a licensed clinical social worker with experience working with families of special needs children. This group will meet for 6 sessions to learn, share and explore the issues most important to participants.
Fee: $10 per session (scholarships available)

Meeting on Sundays for 6 sessions starting in October
Peer Support for brothers and sisters of children with special needs.

Teen Activity Group
Every other Sunday afternoon starting in October
An activity group for teens diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome is forming this fall. The group will meet at the JCC for fun activities and socializing.

Job Seekers Support Group

Jewish Family Service offers a Job Seekers Support Group for active job seekers who are unemployed, underemployed or seeking a career change.
The topic for this session is “Have you Evaluated your Job Search Efforts Lately?” presented by Harold Levin, Manager, SmartStaff Personnel.
The Job Seekers Support Group is offered free of charge and are open to the entire community. Due to space restrictions, we strongly encourage you to register and provide your e-mail address so we may notify you of any change in location. Café Europa
Jewish Family Service of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties is pleased to announce the next Café Europa. Café Europa is a social group for Holocaust survivors who, from 1933-1945, resided in European countries that were subject to Nazi rule and control.
Through speakers, discussions and entertainment, Café Europa gives its members an opportunity to meet new people with similar backgrounds and provide a setting for people to share stories, experiences, and concerns.
Café Europa promises to be enjoyable and informative for all who participate.

Caregivers Support Group
3rd Tuesday of every month
JFS, in conjunction with The Foundation of The Oscar and Ella Wilf Campus for Senior Living, The Martin and Edith Stein Assisted Living Residence, The Martin and Edith Stein Hospice and the Wilentz Senior Residence, offers a Caregiver Support Group for family members and members of the community who are dealing with the stress of being a caregiver.
The group meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM at the Martin and Edith Stein Assisted Living Residence 350 DeMott Lane, Somerset, NJ 08873 (click for map)
