Job Seekers Support Group

Jewish Family Service offers a Job Seekers Support Group for active job seekers who are unemployed, underemployed or seeking a career change.
The topic for this session is “Selling You, Inc: Understanding the Theories and Techniques of Selling and How You Can Successfully Apply Them to Your Job Search” presented by Joe Himmelfarb, a sales professional with over 18 years of experience selling everything from high tech items to executives to low tech items to homeowners. Jewish Family Service generally holds the Job Seekers Support Group on the first Wednesday of every month. There are some exceptions, however, so we suggest you check this web site for updated information.

Parent Support Group
Peer Support for parents with a special needs child
An opportunity to come together with other parents who share similar experiences of parenting. Led by a licensed clinical social worker with experience working with families of special needs children. This group will meet for 6 sessions to learn, share and explore the issues most important to participants.

An activity group for teens diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome meets at the JCC for fun activities and socializing.

Café Europa
Jewish Family Service of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties is pleased to announce the next Café Europa. Café Europa is a social group for Holocaust survivors who, from 1933-1945, resided in European countries that were subject to Nazi rule and control.
Through speakers, discussions and entertainment, Café Europa gives its members an opportunity to meet new people with similar backgrounds and provide a setting for people to share stories, experiences, and concerns.
Café Europa promises to be enjoyable and informative for all who participate.

Caregivers Support Group
3rd Tuesday of every month
JFS, in conjunction with The Foundation of The Oscar and Ella Wilf Campus for Senior Living, The Martin and Edith Stein Assisted Living Residence, The Martin and Edith Stein Hospice and the Wilentz Senior Residence, offers a Caregiver Support Group for family members and members of the community who are dealing with the stress of being a caregiver.
The group meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM at the Martin and Edith Stein Assisted Living Residence 350 DeMott Lane, Somerset, NJ 08873 (click for map)
